Development of Assessment Tools -
Pre Placement/Post Offer and Fit for Duty
Ergo Group Consultants, LLC assists the employer in developing an objective job specific assessment of the abilities of the conditionally hired or the returning worker to safely and efficiently perform the essential functions of the job.
The resulting assessment reflects the physical demands of the job, screening candidates in relation to the job’s identified physical requirements. These requirements may include such attributes as: strength, endurance, aerobic capacity, coordination and balance.
Benefits of assessment tools
- Identify pre-existing conditions for work injury claims
- Baseline musculoskeletal documentation
- Determination of an individual ability to safely perform the physical duties of the job
- Decreased overall injury and re-injury rates
- Baseline documentation for accelerated rehabilitation and return to productive duty
The incidence of low back injuries in those workers with the physical capabilities to perform the required functions of their job was 3%. However, among those workers who did not demonstrate the strength or physical abilities to perform their job, there was a 33% incidence of low back injuries.
